PanOptix Multifocal Implant

The PanOptix® intraocular lens (IOL) is a revolutionary new artificial lens that can restore a patient's full range of vision while simultaneously reducing a patient's dependence on bifocals or prescription reading glasses. The PanOptix® lens can be used as an implant with either Refractive Lens Exchange surgery or during Cataract Surgery.

The patented design distributes light simultaneously for distance and near focal points. This results in excellent visual acuity of nearby as well as faraway objects, allowing patients to read the print on mobile phones, newspapers, and computers while also providing vision for distant objects.

In our office, 90% of patients who undergo bilateral cataract surgery with PanOptix lens implants never need glasses again for any reason following the procedure. About 10% of patients will use glasses on occasion, for example when reading very small fonts or driving at night to reduce glare.
